Terms of Use

1. The service

RoadTrip Planner is a local-first road trip planning tool. Your trips are stored in your browser and never leave your device unless you choose to share them. You do not need an account to use the service.

2. Sharing and the public gallery

Sharing a trip creates an end-to-end encrypted link — the link itself is the decryption key, so the service cannot read the trip content. Publishing a trip to the public gallery is an explicit, opt-in choice that makes your trip visible to everyone. You may unpublish at any time.

By publishing to the gallery you confirm that you have the right to share the content and that it is not unlawful.

3. Content rules

Content published to the gallery must not:

• be unlawful, defamatory, hateful, or harassing;
• promote illegal activity, drugs, or violence;
• contain pornography or sexual content;
• include spam, advertising, or promotional links;
• infringe anyone's rights, including privacy (e.g. posting someone's private address without consent).

We filter obviously problematic content automatically and review reports. Content that violates these rules is removed. Repeat offenders may be blocked from publishing.

4. Reporting

Anyone can report a gallery trip as spam, offensive, or illegal using the report button on the trip. We review reports and remove content that violates these terms, notifying the reporter where possible. You can also contact us directly (see below).

5. Liability

The service is provided "as is". We are not liable for content published by users, and we act expeditiously to remove unlawful content when we become aware of it.
